Two things:
1.
Send a message or call today if possible or tomorrow to both the Mayor and the Rev Kevin; Ask them if they will discuss the ways Water Fluoridation disproportionately harms poor citizens and black families with Amb. Young. This is not the reason for the visit, they have no idea, so they need our help here.

For example, studies show that despite fluoridation, tooth decay is higher in blacks along with fluoride overexposure symptoms – dental fluorosis or discolored teeth.  The National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academy of Sciences has designated kidney patients, diabetics, seniors, and babies as ‘susceptible subpopulations’ that are especially vulnerable to harm from ingested fluorides. Black citizens are disproportionately affected by kidney disease and diabetes, and are therefore more impacted by fluorides.”  See  http://fluoridealert.org/articles/civil-rights01/ You can even include the link. Ambassador Andrew Young and Reverend Dr. Gerald Durley asked Georgia legislators to repeal the state’s mandatory water fluoridation law because fluoride can disproportionately harm poor citizens and black families. That was April of 2011 and more evidence has been revealed since then about the health risks of water fluoridation.  Will you take the time to discuss this important issue with Ambassador Young?

According to the latest national survey by the Centers for Disease Control, 41% of American adolescents now have some form of dental fluorosis — an increase of over 400% from the rates found 60 years ago. (CDC 2010) Fluorosis is a defect of tooth enamel caused by too much fluoride intake during the first 8 years of life.

36 studies have now linked fluoride with reduced IQ in children.

Most developed nations, including the vast majority of western Europe, do not fluoridate their drinking water. Since 2010, over 150 communities have rejected the practice. When will our leaders in Sacramento take a real look at Water Fluoridation based on science?
