By Donna Westfall – May 20, 2016 – With a combined annual income of $67 billion, Bayer of Germany has made a takeover bid which the Monsanto board is reviewing.
YIKES!
That results in having a company in the fields of health care, agriculture and high-tech polymer materials taking over evil multi-national corporate giant currently forcing GMO seeds, crops and food products down our throats and not wanting to label them so as to keep us ignorant about what we are ingesting. This is indeed a scary thought.
Bayer’s 2014 annual report reads for nearly 300 pages and is not exactly a page turner, although some parts remind me of a horror story. Every time I see genetically spliced material on their reports, I cringe.
What can I say that’s good about Bayer? I had a junior high school teacher, Susan Bayer, that was one of the best teachers ever. She was part of the Bayer pharmaceutical family. Remember those baby aspirins sometimes called the wonder drug which are still on the market? Yes, she was part of that. While I was raised on organic food, and given little medication, I didn’t hold her family heritage against her personally. She was great. She challenged us.
However, let’s not forget history. Bayer rose out of the ashes of IG Farben. IG Farben was the most powerful German corporate cartel in the first half of the 20th century and the single largest profiteer from the Second World War. January 27, 2016, marked the 71st anniversary of the Soviet liberation of the Nazi death camp, Auschwitz.
As documents show, IG Farben was intimately involved with the human experimental atrocities committed by Mengele at Auschwitz. IG Farben was the only German company in the Third Reich that ran its own concentration camp. At least 30.000 slave workers died in this camp; a lot more were deported to the gas chambers. It was no coincidence that IG Farben built their giant new plant in Auschwitz, since the workforce they used (altogether about 300.000 people) was practically for free. The Zyklon B gas, which killed millions of Jews, Gypsies and other people was produced by IG Farben´s subsidiary company Degesch.
These days, all we have to do is look to the EPA, FDA and our elected representatives to see that human experimentation has not stopped. With lobbyists throwing money around our state and nation’s capital encouraging everything from adding harmful chemicals to the public waters like fluoride and approving genetically modified fruits, vegetables and now salmon commonly called “Frankenfish“; they are not outright killing us off. No. Let’s see how many generations it takes to create more diseases, more autism, more cancers as a result of their inadequate testing and allowing humans to continue to ingest this foul stuff.
Personally, I would not like to see this mega-merger go forward.
