Each year, right after Memorial Day, Crescent City truck and scoopers offer a free brush pick-up service IF the homeowner or renter will put their brush into the street next to the curb.
This year, 54 loads at 5 yards a load made it to the transfer station. What did that cost in dollars and cents? Per Executive Director, Tedd Ward, at the Solid Waste Authority it would have cost a total of $4,816.66 or $49.80 per ton. However, because the Authority and Hambro WSG waived the fees, it only cost the city in manpower and equipment.

Now, why doesn’t the County do this? No sidewalks?
