Take a Bite out of Blight has done it again. A resident in the Bertsch Track had a need to have a pile of accumulated materials removed and Roger Gitlin organized a crew.
When men, women and children can all work together for a common goal, that is inspiring. Thanks to Recology, a bin was donated.
It’s important to teach our children how to work and get along. Here’s one enthusiastic boy that was very helpful.
Gitlin was effusive in his thanks, “I want to say a big THANK YOU to Team Wal-Mart and General Manager Peter Davis and his great employees / Take a Bite of Blight volunteers who assisted in helping a needy homeowner remove a few thousand pounds of trash. Thank you, Supervisor Bob Berkowitz and all volunteers.”
Thank you, Donna Westfall. It IS the volunteers of which I am one who should be recognized. That’s me with the wheel barrel. It does not take many to make a huge difference in what our community looks like. If everyone did a little, Crescent City and Del Norte County would be a different place overnight. We will continue to do everything in our power to improve the condition of our community and hope that the message resonates throughout all of our neighborhoods.
