By Donna Westfall – Janury 26, 2019 – Days after New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, signed a bill into law legalizing abortion right up before birth, those of us that consider this murder are wondering what evil lurks inside this man? Not only that, why should taxpayer’s that consider abortion tantamount to murder be forced into paying for the procedure?

In addition, Gov. Cuomo calls himself a Roman Catholic and of all the religions in this world, that is the one most against abortion.  People are calling for his excommunication. If I were Catholic I’d join them.  Matter-of-fact, I sent him an email telling him I hope he is excommunicated. Plus I signed a petition at LifePetitions.com.

When did the sanctity of life change in this country? In 1973.  When Roe v Wade became the law of the land.   Do people even understand that the sanctity of life means life is sacred, holy and precious?  Apparently not. People will have to rise up and start marching en masse to get the attention of our legislators and of those women brainwashed by all the propaganda into thinking abortion is the equaivalent of the morning after pill.

Actually thousands and thousands have marched.  For the last 46 years! On January 18th, a rally was held not only in Washington D.C., but in San Francisco as well.

A while ago, I wrote about Del Norte Triplicate Editor, Robin Fornoff’s DUI.  Recognizing that drunk driving is 100% preventable.  Unfortunately, not everyone who is tipsy has the brain power to make a good decision.  Once caught driving a car inebriated,  they can look forward to at least 48 hours in jail, a fine that could be a couple thousand dollars plus attorney’s fee’s and suspension of their driving license.

That’s what happens when you get a DUI. 100% preventable.

By now, women who engage in sex do understand it can result in pregnancy. There are oodles of choices for contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. Condom manufacturers contend there is a 98% success rate at preventing pregnancy. IUD’s have a 99% success rate.   Is it that our people are too lazy now that they know abortion is a failsafe to ending a pregnancy? Using condoms, birth control pills, vasectomy, intrauterine devices (IUD’s) , spermicides, cervical ring, or tubal ligation, there are plenty of choices.  I’m not talking about pregnancy as a result of rape or incest against ones will which is only 1.5% of all abortions.  With all the prophylactics around and handed out freely the chances of becoming pregnant should be diminishing. And, actually, abortion numbers are down from prior years. Finally. Also, young women having first time pregnancies are listening to the heartbeat and seeing ultrasounds of their fetus.  It’s making a difference.

I remember telling my friend, Lorna Heffron, in 1973 when Roe v Wade was made the law of the land that I predicated women will not stop at rape and incest.  They will make abortion a matter of convenience. I hate it when my predictions like this one come true. Over 61 millions abortions have been performed in America from 1973 to today. I call that the American Holocaust  What I never forsaw was the use of taxpayer dollars being used to fund places like Planned Parenthood, Medicaid/Medi-Cal because back in ’73 we were told taxpayers dollars would never be used to pay for abortions. My, oh my how our government lies and the laws are changed.  It’s time to reverse the trend.

With abortion up until the moment of birth now legal in New York, other states are not far behind. In California murder is defined: Cal. Penal Code § 187 (a)  the unlawful killing of a human being or a fetus with malice aforethought. Definition of malice aforethought:

 n. 1) the conscious intent to cause death or great bodily harm to another person before a person commits the crime. Such malice is a required element to prove first degree murder. 2) a general evil and depraved state of mind in which the person is unconcerned for the lives of others.

Those in the womb are silent until their first breath. They feel pain some say between 20 and 27 weeks. A normal pregnancy is typically 40 weeks.  Preemies have survived as early as 23 weeks.  My sister-in-law, a preemie, was 1 pound at birth.  The smallest recorded preemie to survive was 9.2 ounces born in 2004 in Illinois at 25 weeks.

Murder v sanctity of life: until young boys and girls are taught about the sanctity of life and their consciousness really embraces what it means, life for the unborn will remain extremely tenuous.  Human nature is such that unprotected sex will always be around. It’s not just stupidity, selfishness, or immaturity that results in pregnancy and abortions. Girls/women are weighing their options about money, education, jobs and living situations. Many abortions are faced with guilt and regret.  It’s a small percentage of women that dance and parade around announcing their pride in having had an abortion.

I believe life begins at conception.  Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds believes that if death occurs when the heart stops beating, then life occurs when the heart starts beating.  Last May, she sign a bill into law preventing abortions after 6 weeks except for cases of rape, incest or medical emergency. “For me, it is immoral to stop an innocent beating heart.” As of December 6, 2018, that bill is on hold. Lawsuits brought by Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and the Iowa City-based Emma Goldman Clinic need to be resolved by the courts.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood have put up billboards in Iowa with the faces of women who have had abortions and the following messages  “I had an abortion,” before ending with “and I am not ashamed” or “and it was just health care” or “and I am not apologizing.” 

Perhaps, the Pro-Life groups need to put up billboards about the sanctity of life with pictures of babies in the womb and messages like, “I deserve life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness too! Don’t kill me!”
