May 7, 2019 – Outside of Denver, Colorado, multiple students were injured (currently seven and maybe an eighth); and two suspected juvenile suspects were in custody after a shooting was reported right around 2 pm.
Law enforcement is going room to room to make sure there are no more suspects. 1,800 students attend the public charter school now under lockdown as well as all other Highlands Ranch schools are on lockout.
20 years ago, a deadly shooting took place at Columbine High School, just eight miles away from today’s shooting, when two gunmen killed 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves.
They call this school located in Douglas County STEM school which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Shots were heard coming from the Middle School. School officials have announced that all activities have been canceled for this evening.
Students have been taken to the Rec Center where they are being reunited with their parents.
