Biden is scheduled to give his State of the Union Address later this month. The good news is that newly elected Governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders will deliver the response. Huckabee Sanders was chosen by Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to represent Republicans in their rebuttal to Biden’s speech.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to address the nation and contrast the GOP’s optimistic vision for the future against the failures of President Biden and the Democrats,” she said in a statement. “We are ready to begin a new chapter in the story of America – to be written by a new generation of leaders ready to defend our freedom against the radical left and expand access to quality education, jobs, and opportunity for all.”
She was the White House Press Secretary under President Trump from 2017-2019. She also was an advisor during Trump 2016 Presidential campaign. She’s also the daughter of former Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee.
“The youngest governor in America, Sarah is fighting on behalf of parents, small businesses, and ordinary taxpayers. She is bringing new ideas for a changing future, while also applying the wisdom of the past, including from the leadership of her father, Mike,” McCarthy said.
“Throughout her career, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has demonstrated that she is unapologetically pro-life and unafraid to be a voice for the voiceless,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Unborn children and their mothers in Arkansas will have a champion in Sarah Huckabee Sanders as Governor.
“Sanders supports protections for unborn children and their mothers, and she opposes the use of tax dollars to pay for abortions or to subsidize the operations of abortion providers.
“Sarah Huckabee Sanders believes in the sacredness of each and every human life,” said Rose Mimms, executive director of Arkansas Right to Life. “We know Sarah Huckabee Sanders will do everything in her power as governor to keep Arkansas abortion-free and the most pro-life state in the union.”
Compare that to our California Governor Gavin Newsom. He wants everyone to have the opportunity to come to our once great state and get an abortion up to and including birth. In my opinion, not only his stance on abortions, but on virtually everything else puts him in my book as one of the worst governors to ever govern California.
The state has lost residents to other states every year since 2001. Latest results show that nearly 1,000 people a day are leaving California according to the U.S Census Bureau 2022.
Governor Newsom signed legislation eliminating co-pay.s for abortion care services and signed into law a legislative package to further strengthen access and protect patients and providers.
I truly wish we had someone like Sarah Huckabee Sanders back at the helm of our once great state.
NOTE: Breaking News: Catholic students were kicked out of the Air and Space Museum in Washington DC after taking part in the March for Life on January 20, 2023. Why? Because they were wearing blue hats that said “Rosary. Pro-Life.” They were told to take their hats off or leave. A lawsuit is sure to follow.
