Monday night, March 4th at 6 pm, at 445 Elk Valley Road in Crescent City there will be a meeting. These meetings generally last with 1 1/2 hours. This is in Hambro’s building.
The focus is on Radio Club’s skills and activities. We have a raffle amongst the members. We are a volunteer group and engage in the club for the hobby and love of radio. We are sanctioned by the Federal Communication Commission and you have to be licensed to be a Ham Radio Operator. We got our beginnings in 1910.
Our focus is to help in emergency situations. Our members check in every Tuesday night. It’s called the Tuesday Emergency Net. Its to disseminate information to all club members and to make sure our equipment is functional in the case of an emergency. For example infrastructure can fail. Cell phones stop working. Towers go down. With our “Net” we can call the outside world if need be.
This meeting is open to the public and there is no charge.
