The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting severe storms headed toward Northern California this weekend, with damaging winds, high elevation snow and valley rain that could cause flooding, and cooler temperatures.

With the storm approaching, I want to share some tips to keep you and your family safe. I highly advise having a contingency plan in place and having water and food stored in case of an emergency. I encourage everyone to stay safe and follow the guidance of local officials and law enforcement. The following steps may be useful to follow as you prepare.

  • Get/Sign Up For Alerts
  • Make a Plan
  • Pack a Go Bag
  • Build a Stay Box
  • Keep 2 weeks of Prescriptions on Hand
  • Help Friends and Neighbors

More resources are available at Ready.gov. My office is in contact with federal, state and local officials at all times and we will work together to ensure that any necessary assistance is provided without delay.
