The High-Speed Rail Authority’s CEO has been arrested and placed on leave. We are now on CEO number 6 for the Rail Authority: that’s six more CEOs than passengers. Our victory over Newsom in cutting off funding for this disaster looms larger than ever.
This comes as California is literally importing gasoline from the Bahamas, brought in by tankers that run on petroleum. Newsom has somehow given us the most expensive and most environmentally unfriendly energy. My bill to cap gas taxes would get us a little relief.
Newsom was actually asked on CNN why California has the nation’s highest cost-of-living. He didn’t answer. So I went on the network to answer for him: it’s his own disastrous policies. The path to affordability in America is doing the opposite of what Newsom’s done in California.
Yet a new level of insanity is on the horizon, with a proposed “Wealth Tax” that would seize a person’s assets even if they’ve left the state. In response, individuals worth a combined $1 trillion have left California ahead of the deadline, most recently Steven Spielberg and Mark Zuckerberg.
I’ve introduced the Keep Jobs in California Act to preempt this insane proposal. As I rolled out the bill, Bernie Sanders came to California to campaign for the tax, which would fully enact his socialist dreams. You can watch my response to Bernie on Fox.
And after I asked Pam Bondi to make California the focus of anti-fraud efforts, the Administration is sending a strike team to the state to get rid of all the EDD fraud. I recently discussed the $32 billion in fraud – which is ongoing – in a House Floor Speech.
I also joined Benny Johnson to discuss our efforts to secure Voter ID in a state where dogs have been caught voting; and I went on Will Cain Country to sound the alarm about the Chinese bio labs found in Reedley and Vegas. On top of it all, tomorrow is the State of the Union.
