Opinion and Commentary By Donna Westfall – October 16, 2024

Learning about Melanie Trump’s book wherein she’s in favor of women having the right to abortion deeply disturbs me. The reason? In most cases I believe abortion is tantamount to murder. We’re not talking about spraying spiders in the yard. We’re not talking about putting out rat/mouse traps to get rid of vermin. We’re talking about human life. And we’re also talking about millions of human lives that have been destroyed and continue to be destroyed since 1973.

LifeSiteNews.com ran an article today that quotes presidential candidate Terry comparing The View hosts to Nazi’s:

‘These are dead human beings, murdered by abortion that you promote,’ said presidential candidate Randall Terry in a powerful pro-life ad with images of aborted babies that ABC was forced by law to air during The View. ‘A vote for Kamala is a vote for murdered babies.’

The main difference I see between Nazi’s and pro-abortion activists in our country is that Nazi’s wanted to exterminate Jews, homosexuals, Gypsies, those with disabilities, Black People, Poles, Soviet prisoners of war and Jehovah’s Witnesses.

As I understand it, organizations like Planned Parenthood allow abortions to anyone seeking one.

In conclusion, I have problems with abortion for the following reasons:

1.) It takes two to create a baby: A man and a woman. Leaving the decision to have an abortion in the woman’s realm takes away any input from the male. I believe he should have a say. Certainly I recognize that many of our males in our society do not want to take responsibility. What ever happened to men sticking up for their beliefs? What about those that do? They’re out of luck.

2.) For those of us that believe abortion is murder, we shouldn’t have to see our tax dollars spent for it. Whatever happened to people taking responsibility for their actions? Actions have consequences. With our government sanctioning abortion by paying for it with out tax dollars, it takes away that personal responsibility. I’d personally rather see tax dollars spent on bolstering up our public education system so we’re not creating a society of idiots than spending any tax dollars on abortion. Maybe more classes on preventing pregnancies.

Let’s look at the statistics from Brookings.edu:

Most abortion patients are in their twenties (61%),

Black or Latino (59%),

Low-income (72%),

Unmarried (86%),

Between six and twelve weeks pregnant (73%), and

Already have given birth to one or more children (55%).

3.) It used to be that abortion was ok in circumstances of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother. I don’t have a problem with that. But, that was about 1% of all abortions. It’s still about 1% of all abortions.

I urge you to watch Randall Terry’s ad which runs 30 seconds that took aim at “stupid celebrities” and “lying journalists” who use their platforms to promote abortion.  He posted photos of all six regular The View hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
