By Donna Westfall – October 6, 2018 – Has the circus ended with the 50-48 votes down party lines to confirm Kavanaugh as the next Supreme Court Justice?  One can only hope.

One of the swing votes, Sen. Susan Collins, is a Reublican from the state of Maine.  She is pro-choice and supported the Roe v Wade decision.  She, along with a couple of other senators, held up Kavanaugh’s confirmaton by a week in order for the FBI to do one more investigation. Ultimately,  she does not believe Kavanaugh was Christine Blasey Ford’s assailant. In the not too distant future, most people of the public will forget memory-challenged college professor Christine Blasey Ford as she drives into the sunset with her go-fund-me dollars… lives in a $3.3 million home in Palo Alto, California, and her lawyers have been representing her pro-bono.

Missing the vote was Republican Sen. Steve Daines of Montana,  who walked his daughter down the aisle.  He indicated he would vote to confirm Kavanaugh, but his daughter’s wedding was a bigger priority. If he hadn’t missed the vote, the total would have been 51-48, with one lone Democrat, Sen Joe Manchin,  of West Virginia who voted to confirm.

This has to be a major victory for President Donald Trump, who has seen two of his conservative appointees now on the Supreme Court since taking office.

  1. This is the reporting we get from a paper with pieces that have headlines including “state funded whore houses” when talking about a half way house for women. Neil got through, but he did not attempt to rape anyone or have a history as a teen and college student that was shockingly embarrassing and semi-criminal. The leader of your people did say he could kill in public and nobody would do anything. Are you guys ever going to prove him wrong and show a sense of ethics and right from wrong?
