In another stunning smack-down to the anti-gun Left, a federal judge has ordered California to accept concealed carry applications from out-of-state residents.
| This victory is the second time a state has been forced to issue out-of-state CCW permits this month, thanks to the formidable legal team from GOC, GOA, Gun Owners Foundation, CRPA and the Second Amendment Foundation who challenged California’s refusal to issue or recognize out-of-state concealed carry permits. | And in other gun news that could definitely impact what happens in California, Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) filed an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in Garland v. VanDerStok that challenges whether unfinished 80 percent lower receivers and build-your-own-firearms should be defined as “firearms.” Sam Paredes, on behalf of the board for GOF, added: “Despite the temper tantrum from the anti-gun movement about so-called ‘ghost guns,’ Americans have a right to manufacture their own homemade firearms. We have worked closely with our partners in opposition to this rule from the start, and hope that SCOTUS will again make clear the ATF strayed well beyond its legal authority in drafting this rule.” |
| This is the final week of the 2023-24 Legislative Session SB 53 (Portantino/mandatory firearm storage), AB 2917 (Zbur/GVRO expansions), and AB 3064 (Maienschein/certified firearm safety devices) are all set to be heard by both the full Senate and Assembly.
