Mark your calendars. February 24, DNUSD school board will be hearing your words regarding Masks and Vaccines. Superintendent Harris has been quoted stating he has to follow the law regarding masks. Not so fast Harris, This is what Sacramento Schools are doing and let’s not forget the 3 San Francisco School Board Members who were recently recalled for their ridiculous rendition of the laws.
Let’s look at what other schools throughout our state are doing.
Roseville Joint Union High School District which serves 12,000 students in 9 schools in Placer County east of Sacramento made wearing masks optional. They ended masks requirements February 10, 2022, when the superintendent cited “the need to protect students social-emotional health as the reason for the decision.
El dorado Union High School District which serves 6,846 students at 5 schools said it would educate the students about wearing masks and ask them to wear them but would not exclude them from campuses if they failed to comply.
There have been student walkouts in protest of the mask across the state and before Mr. Harris says , “Well we would be fined,” Currently, Local Public Health has no enforcement role of state Covid-19 guidance regarding use of masked within K-12 educational facilities.
Roseville Joint Union’s District Becker sent a message in a letter to school staff, “the superintendent assured teachers they would not be held accountable or liable for not enforcing the mask mandate.” According to legal advice given to the school district, the California Department of Public Health does not require teachers or school staff to enforce the mandate.
A school district in Syskiyou County went against Public Health Officer Stutz by dropping their children off at the school without masks and when the school called the parents the parents refused to pick them up.
February 24, 2022 at 3 pm at the school district office. Let’s make a showing and stop the nonsense. Also Jeff Harris is up for re election. Let’s stop him at the polls if he does not listen to the public
