What are we talking about? SENATE BILL 54!
It’s called the California Values Act, to prevent the use of state and local public resources to aid federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in deportation actions by California Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León (Democrat-Los Angeles)
AND, it may go to a vote in as little as two weeks.
Here’s some of the excerpts of the bill:
First there are 10 paragraphs enumerating what EXISTING Federal Law provides for, states, authorizes and defines. Now begin to read the rest of the bill:
PURPOSE

This bill repeals Health and Safety Code § 11369. If any part of this does not sit right with you, please contact your Senator Mike McGuire at Phone: 707-445-6508.
Ask him to VOTE NO on SB 54.
STATE OF JEFFERSON the time is now. Northern Calif – we need own state – Southern Calif has gone nuts and it will never get better – new taxes are coming our way soon
Yes and that needs to happen before CalExit happens. And yes, I do believe it will happen.
Words fail to convey my dismay how the State of California has devolved deep into an abyss devoid of reality. In other words, the Golden State is being run by children. Petulant, spoiled children who should but do not know the rule of Law. Illegal aliens flooding this country and the friendly confines of the Golden State have caused havoc on thousands of innocent Americans. Drunk driving murders and terrible felonies have devastated thousands of families. Legislators are ignoring their Oaths of office by violating Federal law. And for what? double down California now risks billions in infrastructure funding losses because it wants to take on Washington, DC. Are these folks out of their minds?
SB 54 must be defeated and never reach the Governor’s desk. Please write Sen. Mike McGuire urging him to vote NO.
I really don’t think these California Legislators realize who they are playing “chicken” with. The federal government provides billions of dollars to support state programs. If they withhold federal funds to our state because they will not cooperate with the federal government many of our poorest citizens could suffer.
Take for example the Older Americans Act. This federal programs provides much of the money we have to support “meals on wheels” for older Del Norte County Seniors. Sometimes this is the only meal they get. Yet the state would put these lives in jeopardy over some political point they want to make with the Federal Government.
Don’t these legislators have better things to do?
