- The Del Norte County Transfer Station will be closed.
Education
- Schools: All Del Norte County Unified School District schools will be closed for the holiday, resuming normal schedules on Tuesday, May 26.
Local Travel & Amenities
- Caltrans Highway Work: Travelers should be aware of safety roadwork delays along U.S. 199 and Route 197 northeast of Crescent City. However, Caltrans has stated that no full closures (which only happen during spot repairs later in the summer) will disrupt Memorial Day weekend traffic.
- Retail & Dining: Most major grocery stores, local restaurants, and retail shops will remain open, though some may operate on modified weekend or holiday hours. Call ahead to confirm before visiting.
