This was written in response to a letter to editor sent into the Triplicate by Hillary John Herman and published on November 15, 2012, about fluoride. So far the Triplicate has chosen not to print my letter below.:
”WARNINGS: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN UNDER 6 YEARS OF AGE. If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.” That is the warning you’ll likely find on your children’s toothpaste as well as your own. Fluoride is between lead and arsenic in toxicity dose levels! And we all know how bad lead is.
Many kind and caring people worked tirelessly to get the “fluoride” out of the city water. Former City Council member, Donna Westfall, has worked countless hours and made many personal sacrifices for us to have clean water to no benefit of her own. I am absolutely ecstatic that we voters got the “fluoride” out of the water and would like to thank those who voted for making the right choice. People call it “fluoride” but it was actually hydrofluorosilicic acid, which is an industrial toxic waste. So it really disturbs me when naive people try to undo all the hard work that we have put into this campaign. I hear people trying to say how good fluoride is and use anecdotal evidence to back their claims rather than scientific facts and evidence. So do your own research and don’t just take my word for it. Or worse, listen to someone who is not well informed. Search for, “toxic dose of fluoride” or go to this website for more information: www.fluoridealert.org/studies/acute02/
