For too long, anti-gun states have endangered law abiding citizens by threatening imprisonment for those who simply wish to carry a firearm to defend themselves.
Even in a post-Bruen world, Americans in anti-gun jurisdictions are required to have carry permits, state-mandated classes and in some cases, checks on their social media accounts to carry a firearm.
That’s why Gun Owners of America is proud to back new legislation from Senator Mike Lee from Utah.
The National Constitutional Carry Act would make the Second Amendment your carry permit as the founders intended.
Sen. Lee’s bill also specifically protects the right to carry any firearm, ammo and magazine of your choice.
These crucial additions mean that anti-gun jurisdictions cannot limit your right to carry within their state just because your magazine holds more than ten rounds.
In a time where public safety is threatened from not only ordinary criminals, but also bad actors working for foreign adversaries, being limited by arbitrary gun control is not only unconstitutional, but potentially life threatening.
Senator Lee’s bill is common sense.
With 29 states already protecting the right to carry without a permit and the rising threat of public attacks— returning to the intent of the founders is how we keep Americans safe.
