Harvest of the Month in the Classroom

This month students at our local head starts, Elk Valley, Infant Toddler Center, Pine Grove, Howonquet, and Yurok Tribal Head Start, were able to familiarize themselves with local beans for the Harvest of the Month. Beans from the farm “Beans Without Boarders” were available in the Local Harvest Box delivered right to the school kitchen for use in school meals. Harvest of the Month bags were distributed to each student to take home to their families with recipe cards and nutrition information. We received feedback from some of the parents that tried the recipes provided, they said it was amazing! So when we arrived in the classroom, the kids were already stoked about beans!
