By Donna Westfall – December 27, 2016 – After suffering a heart attack, Carrie Fisher died at 8:55 am this morning. The iconic Star Wars actress will be mourned by millions of fans around the world, as well as family and friends.

carrie-fisher60 year old, Carrier Fisher, was aboard a flight to Los Angeles from London when she stopped breathing.  The beloved actress best associated with her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, was given emergency treatment by the flight crew the last 15 minutes of her flight.  She was then taken to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center after LA firefighters responded to a report of cardiac arrest at LAX airport just after noon on Friday, December 23rd. The firefighters aggressively provided advanced medical life support.

Carrie Fisher, daughter of actress, Debbie Reynolds, and singer, Eddie Fisher, known not only for her roles in TV, in movies and as a writer, but add to that comedienne.  In 2010, she produced her TV Movie documentary, “Wishful Drinking,” which is sure to have anyone rolling on the floor with laughter.

Carrie was on tour promoting her latest book, “The Princess Diarist.” For those of you that lived through the surprise of the century, that Luke Skywalker was the son of Darth Vader, here’s another news flash; she admits to a three month affair with Harrison Ford during the filming of Star Wars in 1976.

Del Norte county provided the land of Endor backdrop where rebels and Ewoks fought the evil Empire in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” filmed in 1982.
