Opinion and Commentary By Donna A. Westfall – April 19, 2025
Years ago when you heard numerous sirens, you not only knew something was going on, you could look on line at the Sheriff’s reports and get a general idea of what was happening.
In the early morning hours of Friday, April 18th at 1:45 am, a disturbance was taking place in the Lauff/Glenn area.
An eyewitness reports, “It was like watching cops on the TV because the entire side of my house is windows facing the ‘6 hour stand-off’ with law enforcement. The robbery suspect, multiple convicted violent felon of the infamous (name withheld for now) gang up in these woods. They gassed her out firing 11 tear gas explosive devices through her windows. They blew the front door up/off. They negotiated over the bull horn for numerous hours. Lots of action.”
In checking the arrest log, I don’t see any names associated with the disturbance. As far as pictures of arrested suspects, they stopped posting pictures on the Sheriff’s log some time ago. There is an incident report # 1504180005, but I can find nothing on the internet to flush that out.
In the coming week, there is bound to be more information. It’s not often you hear about a multi-hour long standoff in this neck of the woods. I, for one, am curious to know more details.
Wow, I wondered what was going on. I went to county website and clicked on a link for community information but could not get out to work on my tablet.
