BY DONNA WESTFALL

During our dinner party last night, this story was shared: Sarah Williams, 29, and James C. Smith, 43.  Ms. Williams walked in to our local Bank of American a quarter to three Tuesday afternoon April 16th. Waiting outside was her  legless friend James Smith, in a wheelchair.  The story goes she handed a note to the teller demanding money. They escaped by bus and were arrested in Arcata by half a dozen agencies including (not verified) Fish and Game.

Questions around the dinner table:

Was there any gun involved?

Would a teller just hand money over to anyone based on a note?

How much did they get away with?

How many agencies responded and why did some respond?

Once arrested, they are no longer homeless.  They now have accommodations including meals thanks to the Crescent City Police Department/Del Norte County Sheriffs Department.

Dumb?
