In an informal but gorgeous setting, Judge Darrin McElfresh officiated at the marriage ceremony of Bob & Bonnie (Brown) Berkowitz.
Roger and Angie Gitlin opened their home with spectacular views of the ocean. The weather had enough of a breeze making it more appropriate to keep the ceremony inside.
Judge McElfresh said, “This is my favorite part of my job.” And, it’s no wonder. Amid lots of laughter and love, the couple was asked if they accepted each other and both responded in the affirmative.
A far cry from much of the court action McElfresh oversees on a daily basis.
Standing up for Bob was best man, Roger Gitlin, in his neck brace after emergency surgery the week before. Standing up for Bonnie was matron of honor, Angie Gitlin. Family and friends welcomed Bob and Bonnie to their new life as man and wife.
The exquisite cake was brought down from Washington. Actually two cakes were there, and while the first cake got eaten, the other one was donated to Harrington House. There was enough food to feed two armies. Being that it was on Cinco de Mayo, the fare was Mexican featuring enchiladas and all the condiments.
We wish the new couple much happiness for their future together.
We wish you the best of everything.
