He sits inside a beautifully decorated car. It’s not just a run of the mill car, it’s a 1940 Lincoln-Zephyr Continental Cabriolet convertible, adorned with purple and gold flowers and basketballs made of seeds. Due to the rain, they had to put the top on, so it’s not easy to see him.
This is the 137th Rose Parade and it’s only rained 10 times the last being in 2006.
The marching band from Mexico is 250 members strong, however; 4,000 youngsters from the age of 12 to 18 try out for this group.
Hawaii had horse riders. The US Marines composite band played from the Hall of Montezuma. The Alabama Rosewood High School Bank had about 300 members with a couple dozen girls without rain gear – it is 57 degrees so not freezing.
San Francisco entered a float covered with 15,000 roses. One of the most colorful floats was Lions International.
