In an opposition to dismiss three counts, Assistant District Attorney, Katie Micks, disclosed the following text messages that were sent to the victim by Joey Young. Please keep in mind the first text was sent directly from Mr. Young’s office while working for Del Norte County, in the County Human Resources Department. “Yes sir, I’m in my office as we speak although I’d much rather be in bed next to you.”
Paid for by the taxpayers of Del Norte County.
The people also introduced a string of text messages as exhibit 1 that were intercepted by the defendant’s wife, Jennifer Young. In those messages, the defendant and the victim text about oral sex and ejaculation.
The trial is expected to last 3 days.

GUILTY!!!!!!!Now off to jail with you.
YEAH…..the system actually works.
Agreed! Thanks for the update. This is a shame he should not get away with this. If the situation were with a girl would he? Also he was in a position of power what is he teaching the kids he coaches all over the community that it’s OK to be raped by a 40 year old man. No child at 16 or 17 knows who or what they want. Even 18. He is a predictor by far! The pattern must stop.
Glad to see someone is keeping this in the forefront. Good job!
