The brainiacs at the Department of Justice who decide what is permissible – and what is not – on the CA Firearms Handgun Roster are not exactly burning on all thrusters.  WHY, in the name of all things reasonable would the DOJ force firearms manufacturers to produce handguns that are not their most advanced and safest?  The short answer is that the law requires it – the Legislature has mandated this, and this is even more evident because now Californians are only “allowed” to acquire obsolete Gen 3 GLOCK pistols.  Plus, the brand “new-to-the-roster” Staccato HD P4 has been “watered down” to pass arbitrary California testing. No two ways about it – this is contentious and downright irrational.

The Truth About Guns describes the roster as “…so politically manipulated and functionally obsolete it reads more like a museum catalog than a representation of modern firearms. In order to be blessed by the DOJ, pistols must pass outdated drop tests, include loaded chamber indicators, and feature magazine disconnects that, ironically, compromise real-world safety. The state mandates these “features” under the guise of public safety, but they serve mostly to keep newer, better-engineered handguns off the shelves.”

Gun Owners of California is fiercely battling AB 1187, which targets all California-compliant GLOCK pistols currently on the roster.  Stay tuned to our website to learn how you can voice your opposition to this legislation, as well as many other anti-2A bills the Left has introduced.
