KATHERINE KELLY SEZ:
Public Notice Alert.
I get these emails all the time that say I have a notice to appear in court, one time it was an eviction notice. I knew instantly that it was a scam and didn’t open the attachment, but someone might freak out and open it to see if it’s real. It’s real alright…a real scam that downloads malware and farms for your personal info like passwords and credit card or banking info. Here’s the Snopes skinny on it: http://www.snopes.com/crime/ fraud/courtnotice.asp
I received the same summons but looked at the email and it had an UK address so sent it to spam.,
Whoops. I read this wrong. Postal inspector not needed here and dnso can’t do anything until some in their jurisdiction falls victim.
I should pay more attention.
I should add that no legit contact is done via email. It should be via mail.
I am happy to report that if i get one of these, will automatically know it’s a scam. That’s because for the first time in my life, i’m a home owner!
All it took was for me to leave Del Norte County and move on with my life and away from the infestation of corruption and loosely coordinated suppression efforts on my life and my liberties.
Glad you saw the scam for what it was. Bet DNSO or the US Postal inspector won’t do anything about it.
Crime pays in Del Norte.
