I was born in 1947.
Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert says this: “”The American people are struggling with groceries, inflation, credit card debt, and other monthly expenses that were fueled by Biden’s spending spree. I know all too well how damaging the liberals have been to our entire state.”
Gasoline – It certainly didn’t help the consumer when Biden did what he did the first day in office. Now, you can pay $5+ per Gallon in Del Norte County or drive up to Brookings, Oregon to pay 50 cents to $1 less per gallon.
Butter – not listed above was less than $1 per pound in 1947. Today it runs from $4-8 per pound unless you can find a sale or digital coupon at $2.97/lb.
Let’s look at the bigger picture. Biden’s massive spending created a national debt that is not only historic, but also unsustainable. This has lowered your standard of living as it has caused inflation and lowering the value of the dollar.
From the Huey Report:
Since Biden took office his pro-socialist policies imposing job-killing regulations are devastating businesses, the economy, and your life. For example:
- Disposable incomes have fallen 11.7%
- Homeownership is down 32%
- Monthly savings have fallen by 83.1%
- Credit card debt is up by 22.7%
- 401(K)s for the average worker has lost over $34,000 or over 20%, crushing retirement dreams.
Then there are tax hikes. Always tax hikes:
Both the City of Crescent City and the County of Del Norte thought it wise to increase the sales tax 1%. First there was a Citizen Oversight Committee for the County. Now that has changed to an Advisory Committee at the County without a vote. All members on the committee are for the tax hike. However, our roads are just as bad as when the taxes went into effect.
Finally, rising interest rates. If you’re lucky enough to own a home, but have a variable mortgage on it, you’ve noticed that increase in interest rates which increased your mortgage payments. Again, less money in your pockets.
Somehow our politicians don’t seem able to figure out that with inflation there is increased poverty which leads to homelessness instead of reducing regulations and then bringing in businesses and creating jobs.
I don’t know when it will end. I do know that we don’t possess enough politicians at least in California that are anti-tax, anti- inflation to do anything meaningful to stop this trend.
Even if Trump gets re-elected, he’s got a tough row to hoe. He did it before, can he do it again? And that’s even if those states allow him to remain on the primary ballot.
