BY DONNA WESTFALL

Eleven years ago, who can forget the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon? The senseless deaths of innocent men, women and children as passengers in hijacked airplanes due to Al Queda’s agenda of harm to America.

Thousands gathered today in New York, suburban Washington and rural Pennsylvania to mark the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, but at the somber day’s biggest venue, Ground Zero in lower Manhattan, this year’s observance was missing a key feature: politicians’ voices.  This year, only the families of the more than 2,750 who were killed at the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers, appeared on the podium to read their names.  While many politicians attended the rememberance, none were to speak or read the names of those killed that day.

In remembrance of the anniversary, Del Norte Tea Party Patriots  extends an invitation to all to join their 9/11 Remembrance Potluck Dinner.  They will be providing the BBQ Salmon and request you bring side dishes and desert.  They are inviting all Emergency Service Providers Law Enforcement, Fire Services, Ambulance and Active Military to attend. They state, “It will be an honor to serve those that serve our community.”

Please call Karen at 954-3520 and let her know you will be attending.  They need a  head count so they will have enough Salmon.

That’s tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 11th at 6:00 p.m. Del Norte County Fairgrounds Arts & Crafts Bldg.
