Shooting at Roseburg, Oregon’s Umpqua Community College. 9 dead, 7 more injured.
Information is coming in piece meal since the college is in such a remote location.
The shooter has been identified as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer on a rampage against Christians, and shootings occurred in a classroom building called Snyder Hall.
Umpqua is a two-year school with about 3,300 full-time students and 16,000 part-time students.
The shooter fired at officers and was killed, according to the Douglas County Sheriff, John Hanlin. Just in, Saturday, October 3rd, news that the shooter committed suicide when officers arrived.

A hero has emerged. 30 tear old, Chris Mintz, a father, Army veteran and student on campus, charged Mercer and prevented many more deaths from happening. Mintz was shot a total of seven times, including in the back, abdomen and hands, and also suffered two broken legs. He came out of surgery and his vital signs are good. He is going to have to learn to walk again, but he survived.
To help pay for his medical bills, a GoFundMe page was created. $530,511 was raised by 16,425 people so far within 20 hours.
