Yesterday California Democrats forced through their reckless $50M bill to “Trump Proof” California – but I want you to know the behind-the-scenes truth as to how they did it and how you can help us fight back!
Last Thursday: CA Democrats wanted to pass their Trump Proof bill last week but at the last minute we surprised them with two hostile amendments: one to prohibit any taxpayer funds from being used to defend obstruction of federal law enforcement by state or local politicians and one to prohibit funds going to protect illegal immigrants with felony convictions. Democrats were so rattled by the move they cancelled the vote on the bill!
This Weekend: Throughout the weekend, several senior CA Democratic legislative leaders threatened various members of the Republican Caucus that they needed to force me and my colleague to withdraw our amendments because the Democrats didn’t want to have to cast a “tough vote” on them. I was told if I did not withdraw from this fight that “all of your bills will be killed.”
My response to this threat was simple:
”BRING IT ON! I’m not backing down from this or any other fight! Plus you never would have voted for any of my bills in the first place!”
Yesterday: To their credit, all members of the Republican Assembly Caucus stood 100% united with us in forcing the Democrats to make the “tough vote” to reject our amendments. We exposed the fact that they are willing to protect felony criminals from deportation.
Walking off of the floor, I told the media:
”This is what an opposition party looks like – so get used to it!”
What Happens Next: I’m not done with this fight! 75% of voters support our amendments to ban taxpayer funds from protecting illegal immigrant criminals. With that in mind, we want to target 5 vulnerable Democrat legislators with text and digital ads in their district so their voters know their representative voted to protect criminals.

Two years ago a similar pressure campaign forced CA Democrats to reverse course on their reckless decision to kill a child trafficking bill. I believe a pressure campaign can do the same in banning taxpayer funds to protect illegal immigrant criminals.
Getting these ads up ASAP is crucial – especially as Californians see protests in the street shutting down freeways and impacting commutes.
CA Democrats may currently have the votes to do whatever they want in the state legislature – but they are certainly out of step with voters on this key issue. Please help us expose their extremism to voters by contributing to the campaign today!
