For the umpteen years that Democrats have been in the White House and dominating the California legislature, I don’t recall them being particularly interested in lowering taxes, do you? I don’t recall them being particularly interested in lowing costs of medication, or food, rents or gasoline. But, now that Trump has completed his first year of his second term in office, our Congressman 2nd District has this to say:
The Trump administration has launched us into a rash, illegal war in Iran, triggering global chaos and creating new economic uncertainty here at home. Americans are struggling to afford groceries and rent – but instead of making life better for them, Trump is going to throw billions of taxpayer dollars into this war of choice. It’s reckless, and the American people and our brave servicemembers deserve better.

The initial $400 million was delivered on January 17, 2016, the same day Iran released four American prisoners. The Obama administration acknowledged using the cash as leverage to ensure the American hostages left Iran safely, but denied the payment was a “ransom”.
What a country!?!!
Countries that deny women almost everything do not stand high on my list. There has been no equality between the sexes in that country for as long as Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been in power.
The repression of women and girls went on for 37 years. Prison, flogging, fines, denying them education and all of this for not wearing a hijab. From IMPACT IRAN, January 2025, “Under Iranian law, women and girls’ rights are not equal to those of men and boys when it comes to the age of criminal responsibility, rights to marriage, divorce, the custody of children, participation in public and political life, in sports and in arts, work, freedom of movement, the transmission of their nationality to their children, and more. Women’s and girls’ testimonies in courts have no legal value for certain categories of crimes, while weights only the value of half that of a man’s in other cases. Women and girls are also entitled to lesser compensation for the violations of their rights. “
Am I sorry to see Khamenei killed along with 200 others?
NOPE!
Because it’s so difficult to get accurate information out of Iran, the numbers of protesters his evil regime killed during a 2 day nationwide crackdown in January 2026 ranged above 36,500 according to Iran International.
I just can’t fathom Huffman wanting to support those types of atrocities. If they happened in our country, he wouldn’t last 2 seconds in office.
As part of his newsletter he asks, “Do you support the Trump administration’s military operations in Iran?”
