The first Monday of each month from 6 pm to 8 pm is where you can check out people who help with emergency and community services. Current President, Jaime Yarbrough, has put out the welcome mat to interested parties.

Meetings are free. Members are very responsive to helping you learn about becoming a radio operator. Some people use ham radio for emergency preparedness, to provide communications support for community events, to report on severe weather and natural disasters, as a social activity, and even occasionally to contact crew members on the International Space Station.

They meet at the Fire Station located at 255 W. Washington Blvd in Crescent City, Ca. The first 20 minutes is club business with the remainder of the meeting discussing club activities.

Should you want to join and become a radio operator, exams and testing, classes are offered to help you prepare to take the test to get your license.

Check them out. Click on the icon on the upper right hand side of this newspaper for more detailed information. Next meeting is Monday, August 2nd.
