Stay away from the beaches today. Enjoy them tomorrow. The reason there is a beach hazard warning is because of sneaker waves.
The National Weather Service has issued a warning for swimmers, surfers, and beachgoers to “stay away from the ocean and remain out of the water.”
What is a sneaker wave? It’s a rush of water. It can surge up on shore taking everyone by surprise. It can throw objects like boulders and logs up on shore. Just look at what’s covering our beaches right now.
So for those of you that like to walk your dog(s) on the beach, those that like to surf or swim in the ocean, just stay away until tomorrow.
