First of all, City Hall is now generally closed to the public except by appointment.  Here’s the official announcement dated November 27, 2020:

City Hall will be closed to the public until January 4th to do our part to help with preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We are open for appointments by calling 707-464-7483, but if you prefer to do business online, you are able to do that!
The City of Crescent City now offers online permitting for building permits.
Downtown Diva’s announced cancellation of the Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on November 29, 2020:
The Crescent City Downtown Divas announced today that the Crescent City Downtown Christmas Parade & Tree lighting that was scheduled to take place on December 4th, has been canceled.
After working on a creative plan to hold a reverse parade with the City of Crescent City, when the Del Norte County Public Health department announced that we were moving to Tier 1, it wasn’t possible to continue with parade plans. We made this decision after consultation with City officials, and out of concern for the safety of our citizens, participants and volunteers.
The pandemic has played havoc on the Divas entire season of Live From Downtown: it’s First Friday! events with the Christmas parade being the finale of 2020 scheduled Live From Downtown: it’s First Fridays!
We are saddened that we are unable to make this work and ask for your understanding and support.
Thank you to our continued sponsors, participants and volunteers for all you have done to champion the Crescent City Downtown Divas.
It is imperative that our Community step up and SHOP LOCAL whenever possible as small businesses will be some of the hardest hit with this recent change during the holiday season when normal sales can hold a business over thru the slower winter months.
We are hopeful that 2021 we will be able to bring back a full season of First Friday, along with many other much needed events!
Wishing you all a very happy and healthy Holiday Season!######

Best to call first to see if they are open.

  1. SMART COVID STRIKES AGAIN !!!! Did you know you can go to the court house and into the court room to view court proceedings and there is no COVID there? But you can’t go to the city or county offices because covid is there…My covid is so smart, I’ve never witnessed anything like it. We have not been able to attend in person government meetings…in the meantime, our government officials are cleaning the clocks…if people cannot attend in person to these meetings the elected should not have any meetings at all….Redding, California has allowed the public in for public meetings…Del Norte county has been locked down for months and everyone here seems to be ok with that…..why??? for a flu ….wake up America
