There are 40 million people living in California, and 001% resulting in deaths due to Covid 19. (Source California Department of Health) Rolling out the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and getting people vaccinated is apparently top priority for TOTUS (Thief of the United States) Biden and VP Kamala Harris.

Both Harris and her husband received their second dose of Moderna on live TV, Tuesday, January 26th. The Biden/Harris administration has a goal of vaccinating 100 million American’s in 100 days. Now does that mean someone will have to show ID to prove they are an American? Or does that mean anyone currently living in the Country can get a vaccination? I don’t believe those questions haven’t been asked or answered yet.

Let’s ask some other pertinent questions because the best stories start out without knowing what the end result will be; like how many have died to date and how many received the vaccine to date; and what happened?

There have been approximately 38,000 deaths in California due to the virus.

How many have died since getting a vaccination? An Orange County health care worker, Tim Zook, was excited to received his 2nd dose. But 2 1/2 hours later he got sick. Two days later he died. A local Del Norte County attorney posted on social media that 181 have died as a result of the vaccine. In checking the CDC website, there doesn’t appear to be any category for deaths after being vaccinated. Matter of fact, I haven’t found any data citing death statistics yet.

What about how many have had adverse reactions? Over 1,000, again based on the local Del Norte County attorney. I haven’t verified this number.

What is considered a serious side effect and when does it show up?

  • Injection site pain
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Muscle pain
  • Chills
  • Joint pain
  • Fever

Those seven don’t seem very serious. Severe side effects would include anaphylaxis, Bells Palsy and swollen lymph nodes.

Let’s say those statistics are accurate…. 1.4 million vaccinations given in California resulting in 181 deaths and over 1,000 serious adverse reactions. ABC Channel 7, Eyewitness News carried an article two days ago about only 10 out of 4 million vaccinations had any serious side effects. The article did not state exactly where the 4 million vaccinations were given.

Let’s look at the numbers in our state: Latino’s constitute 39% of the California population with White’s trailing by 37%. Latino’s are coming down with the virus at the rate of 55% while it’s 20% for White’s. The largest age segment getting the virus are 58% for 18 – 49 year olds. Of the 38,000+ deaths, 75% of those are in the 65 year old and older category.

California’s Department of Health has Del Norte County down at 856 Covid cases which corresponds to Del Norte County Health Department numbers. As of Tuesday, January 26th, there are 4 new confirmed cases. Almost 12 1/2 thousand tests have been administered. Of those, 878 are confirmed cases of which 859 are inactive. No current hospitalizations. In a 60%-40% ratio, more men are contracting the virus than women. 59% are in the 18-59 year old category.

Where can you get the vaccine in Del Norte County? Tomorrow, January 28, 2021 Del Norte Public Health will be setting up a vaccine drive- through at the airport. Approximately 100 people have been notified to receive the vaccine at the round-about portion of the Airport.

Are there groups of people who should not get vaccinated? According to Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, a UCSF Infectious Disease specialist; the answer is yes: a child under the age of 16 with the Pfizer vaccine or under the age of 18 with the Moderna vaccine because that wasn’t studied. If you have an allergic reaction to the first shot, you should not get a second.

Del Norte County now reports 3 deaths with no current hospitalizations. That’s with one third of our population being tested since last year.

What are the odds in Del Norte County of getting the virus or getting a vaccination? It appears that even if you contract the virus, your odds of beating it without hospitalization are very good. And, is it better to get vaccinated or not? That’s a decision, I hope, each person can make for themselves and hopefully not forced on anyone by government edicts.

Besides, Gov Newsom has enough problems surrounding him with all the scandals going on and recall against him. Churches closed, schools closed, businesses closed and going out of business left and right. In 2019, 653,000 people left California mostly for places like Texas where housing and taxes are substantially lower.
