By Congressman Kevin Kiley – January 17, 2023
I’ve been selected to serve on the House Judiciary Committee. This will be the center of the action for oversight of the Biden Administration. Accountability starts now.
I’ve also been appointed to the Education and Workforce Committee. This will be a powerful position for protecting the rights of parents and defending the right to earn a living.
Meanwhile, amidst the devasting storms hitting our state, I gave my first speech on the Floor of the House of Representatives. I noted the absurdity: California finds itself in a flood emergency and drought emergency at the same time.
Citizens are told to shorten their showers and farmers are told to fallow their fields – as they watch water flow abundantly into the ocean. That’s why I am co-sponsoring the California WATER Act to finally build the storage we need to stabilize our supply.
Newsom, of course, opposes such common sense. The Sac Bee reports “the war is on, Gov. Gavin Newsom vs. Rep. Kevin Kiley and the House Republicans.” You can watch here my recent Fox News interviews with Steve Hilton and Laura Ingraham discussing his catastrophic failures.
Finally, we are six weeks away from California’s COVID State of Emergency ending (if Newsom actually keeps his word). I am now calling on Congress to terminate Biden’s national emergency and to end every remaining mandate.
The House is out of session this week. When we return next Tuesday, things will start moving very quickly.
