Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10 am, the “Point of Honor” will hold it’s official dedication. It’s located at the corner of Front Street and Highway 101.
Over a decade in planning it’s nice to see the project completed.
Kelly Schellong, instrumental in it’s fundraising, says, ” Redwood Coast Transit will be at the monument dedication early tomorrow to transport any veterans from the library or shoreline RV parking lots over to the monument if they need assistance and the van/bus will have a wheelchair lift. Free of charge! See you all tomorrow!”
Over the months, flowers have been planted and bricks of donors placed on either side of the walkway as you approach to the monument.
You are advised to arrive early as parking is as follows:
At the library parking lot on “K” and Front Streets.
Limited ADA parking is tt the Chamber of Commerce building located in the Cultural Center at 1001 Front Street, Crescent City
At Shoreline RV park located at 900 Sunset Cirle, Crescent City; then using the foot bridge to cross over to the Point of Honor.
