Sara Scott is a Registered Nurse in South Sacramento Emergency Room. Recently, she spoke of a young mother who brought in her 3-year-old child for an unknown sickness. Sara asked her patient’s mother if she was up on the child’s vaccinations. The answer was no. Sara informed the mother with all the illegals aliens being allowed to come into our country, there has been an uptick in Measles and other formally eradicated diseases.

In 1963 There were more than 500,000 cases of measles per year in the United States. By 1965 a vaccine was developed, and the eradication process began. By 2020, there were only 13 cases reported.

Currently, there are approximately 371 cases that have been reported throughout our country. The reemergence of measles is due to the fact millions are coming into our country without vaccinations or proof of vaccinations and bringing these once eradicated disease back into our country.

Measles is a highly contagious, vaccine-preventable infectious disease caused by measles virus. Symptoms usually develop 10–12 days after exposure to an infected person and last 7–10 days.

But some children, especially those not updated with their vaccines or younger than 5, are more likely to experience complications, such as ear infections and serious infections, such as pneumonia and encephalitis, a life-threatening inflammation in the brain.

Polio

• In 1952, the United States experienced its largest outbreak of polio with about 20,000 cases.

• The availability of the inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) in 1955 eradicated the disease in the U.S.

• In July 2022, the New York State Department of Health alerted community members that a person in Rockland County tested positive for polio.

• On August 12, health officials also reported finding evidence of poliovirus in New York City’s wastewater samples, and on September 9, the Governor of the State of New York declared a State disaster emergency regarding poliovirus

For the most part our community is safe. However, California is beginning to get Many Illegals coming into San Diego. It is only a matter of time before this community gets inundated with people who more than likely are not up on their vaccinations, MMR, and Polio is important for your babies to get.
