robert-sinnot-and-neil-warren-suspects-in-suspicious-deathUPDATE Credit to Channel 3 News – September 28, 2016 –  Two suspects have been taken into custody.  Robert Sinnott, 38 years old, was arrested in Eureka when he was found to be in possession of Deborah Fillman’s vehicle. Neil Warren, 36 years old, was taken into custody on a probation violation.  DNA tests are currently being run.

By Donna Westfall – September 23, 2016 – Facebook postings earlier this week asking if anyone heard about a woman being murdered on Meridian Drive took a sad turn when a release by the Del Norte County Sheriff’s office told of  60 year old, Deborah Fillman, was found dead, and her car stolen.

On Monday, September 19th, Deputies were called to the 400-block of Meridian Drive in Crescent City.  Coincidentally, Steve Fillman, 60 years old, was one of two bodies retrieved from the Smith River when the van he was driving crashed into the rushing currents.  It took months before the vehicle and bodies could be retrieved.  The passenger in the van was Fred Hansen.

Deborah Fillman’s missing vehicle was found Tuesday in Eureka with a male and female both from Crescent City  inside. The driver was arrested for vehicle theft and is currently in jail.  No names have been released.

The investigation is ongoing.  Could there be any connection between the deaths of the two Fillman’s?  Are there forces at work that wanted these two people dead (or three people)?  Or are these two unrelated incidents?

  1. This article was published, September 28, 2016 however in looking at the DNSO’s OIS website, I see that Neil Warren was arrested again on April 29th, 2017. What is probation doing charging him yet again with a probation violation, but letting him do no real time? Arrested Sept 28th, but arrested again only a few months later. That guy has a very lengthy criminal history with a lot of violence, evasion from law enforcement, burglary, weapons violations, being a felon in position in a firearm, etc. I guess our DA and/or the courts don’t care about community safety.

Information from the OIS website taken 7/17/2017.

  2. What the hell?

Neil Warren’s name keeps popping up on the police scanner year after year after year for terrorizing the community. He always gets out of jail and never seems to go to prison. I’ve made comments to many people that one day he’s going to do something really bad and it will be the fault of the DA for not dealing with him with tools afforded to the DA: The Law and the Justice System.

Also, how can a coroner legally tie up personal property or meddle with an estate? That doesn’t make any sense and should be contested.

If it turns out that Neil Warren was involved in her death, then it’s time to hold the DA’s office accountable for not prosecuting Mr. Warren on the multitude of past crimes. What the hell is wrong with our DA and out courts????

Maybe this will be the wake up call to put Mr Warren in prison for a year or to. I doubt it will ever happen.

  3. Myself and Mike (Debbie Filman’s son) meet at location with county assessor, cororner, and Debbie’s landlord, who wants Mike to sign letter stating he had 30 days to move his mom’s belongings out &amp what was left she would get. Also won’t give us access to inside house. Coroner and assessor say we can’t get access till we pay her cremation and debts. All she has is basic bills to pay. They think that Mike is incompetent to complete these tasks and assessor asked and told Mike that they were there to help him …want him to allow them to handle everything. Told him she had lots of debt, no will, (which in fact she has very little debt and in fact does have a living wil)l. She left part of it to her son and part to her granddaughter (Eliana). Sherriff’s office informed him that car has been released now and had to find licensed driver. Now assessor states its in her possession and she can sell it to pay debts. Car worth $5,000 and paid for. Between her debts and small household bills, her cremation …plus Debbie has lived in that house for over 29 years and has quite a bit worth of valuables. But again, they won’t let us in and MIKE is her own son.
