Puppy Mill Arrest

ByDonna Westfall

July 15, 2012

Friday, the 13th. While taking part in the Redwood Empire Division meeting held at the Wastewater Treatment Plant on “B” street; across the street in the black corrugated metal building, 2 arrests were being carried out by the police department concerning a suspected puppy mill.

Puppy mills are notoriously known for inhumane treatment of dogs in order to maximize breeding and profits so that owners can sell through e-mail, ads and pet shops to the unsuspecting public.

Questions surrounding this venture.  How did they rent the place, under what guise? Who owns the property across from the WWTP/lab?

  1. If this is the metal building right next to the gas pumps, there was a known puppy mill there not too many years ago. I remember hearing dogs howling in there as I walked at the park and was glad the people were prosecuted for animal cruelty. If it is the same people/ place, I really hope second charges will bring serious consequences.
