Every day I get an email from former President Trump keeping me appraised of what’s happening.
This morning, it dealt with him hosting a screening of the film Sound of Freedom at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster on July 19, 2023. The screening will be attended by club members and supporters.
He goes on; “Sound of Freedom grossed $41.7 million in the first week of its release and opened at No. 1 in Texas, Florida, and Arizona theaters. The feature has taken the nation by storm, beating out Disney’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in July 4th movie ticket sales despite appearing in far fewer theaters, securing the top position in the box office for the day. The film which is being distributed by Angel Studios, was produced by Mexican filmmaker Eduardo Verástegui and stars Jim Caviezel.”
Now let’s look at why the film is doing so well despite not getting coverage from much of the mainstream media:
“The film is based on the true story of federal agent Tim Ballard’s mission to save children from child sex traffickers in Colombia. Liberal media outlets like the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The Hollywood Reporter have refused to review the film, while publications like Rolling Stone, Washington Post, CNN, and The Guardian have trashed the film and mocked the millions of movie-goers who purchased tickets to screenings.”
About the same time, I got this from townhallmail.com written by Sarah Arnold on July 12th:
“California Democrats Refuse to Pass Anti-Human Trafficking Bill, Putting Children’s Lives at Risk.”
“In a shocking outcome, the California Assembly Committee on public safety blocked a bill that would increase the charges for human trafficking.
The bill would have categorized sex trafficking of minors as a serious felony— in line with murder and rape— in the Democrat-run state of California.”
All the Republican’s on the Committee voted for it and of all the Democrats voted against it.
Getting back to Trump; “In his first month in office, President Trump said he was ‘prepared to bring the full force and weight of our government’ to end human trafficking, and signed an executive order directing federal law enforcement to prioritize demolishing the criminal organizations behind forced labor, sex trafficking, and child exploitation.”
And that’s the difference between Trump and Gov Newsom. If you want to save the children, it probably won’t happen under Newsom’s reign even though he says he’s surprised by this vote because it’s an issue he cares deeply about.
