By Donna Westfall – January 29, 2018 –

At noon today on the “S” curve, it was  cloudy with intermittent sunshine. Not quite warm enough for shirt sleeves, but not so cold as to need a heavy jacket. Yet in terms of taking pictures in front of the Point of Honor sign, difficult because of the sun’s location.

The significance of today’s gathering was Monte Mendenhall, Regional Business Manager for Pacific Power presented Harlan Zeigler, President of the Point of Honor (POH), Veteran’s Memorial Monument with a check, representing a grant for $3,000.

After the presentation, I met with Kelly Schellong and Jeremy Herber both on the POH Committee. They were tossing around ideas to raise additional funds.  Some of those ideas included donations for bricks and donations for benches.

Hopefully, everything will come together in time for a presentation before the Crescent City, City Council on February 8th.

But the big news is that they are looking to complete the project by the end of this year!
