I just read the article about the proposed rate restructuring. While it might sound good from the standpoint of a possible way to decrease what we pay as residents, it seems like a huge shell game to me, and a way to make us like the plan while a bomb sits waiting in the corner. What about the restaurants who will see an increase? Will they be able to stay in business? And the motels? And if they end up closing, how will that loss of income be compensated? I think the City just ignores this tiny little inconvenience. A follow up for your paper would be to interview the restaurant/motel owners and see what they project for this new billing change. Just a thought 🙂
