The outgoing Speaker of the Assembly has realized that James Gallagher and I were right to sue Newsom. Though the Supermajority never lifted a finger to help us, he now tells the LA Times one-man rule has done lasting damage to our state:

“The Legislature created a power imbalance when they left the Capitol during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and allowed Newsom to enact policy alone. ‘The Legislature weakened itself by not showing up and that relationship between the branches has never been the same.'”

Looking back at our first court filing three years ago, it’s chilling how much has come true. While the damage caused by Newsom can never be undone, we’ve at least ended the state and national emergencies – and we’re still working to restore sanity.

To that end, last week we passed legislation in the House to correct the grave injustice of discharging 8,000 servicemembers from the military based on personal vaccine decisions. I’m also co-sponsoring a bill to remove the vaccine mandate for new legal U.S. citizens.

This week, the Judiciary Committee has three major hearings. Tomorrow, I’ll be questioning Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas about the border crisis caused by Biden’s reckless policies. You can watch the hearing here.

On Thursday, the DEA Administrator will appear before our committee. That same day, we will also advance a Resolution holding Mark Zuckerberg in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena related to his censorship of free speech.

Finally, Speaker McCarthy has announced that the investigation into Joe Biden “is rising to the level of an impeachment inquiry.” As a Member of House Judiciary, the committee of jurisdiction for impeachment, I am ready to follow the facts where they lead.

Support our fight for sanity in D.C.
