The Del Norte Association of Realtors & City Staff worked together this morning to clean up some of the landscaping in front of the Cultural Center with new flowers, mulch, and shrubs – and what a difference it made! A big thank you to all of the volunteers who came out this morning to pitch in, get dirty, and help keep our city beautiful.
Don’t you love it when a plan comes together?
It is nice to see the beautification efforts of the small plaza at the entrance to the Visitor Center. The plaza along with the informational signs was done by Redwood National and State Parks in 2002, but was never cared for by either the City or the Chamber. Also, one of the photos shows a man in the area where several rhodies were planted about 1998 by the late Richard Miles. Why were these mature plants removed since they were still in their prime and could have been trimmed to reduce their legginess and become a full plant by the next bloom?
